1 Safety....

  • Always have your gas appliances serviced every 12 months.
  • Keep clothes away from gas boilers, especially if installed in airing cupboards.
  • Ensure air vents are not blocked into cupboards or rooms that house gas boilers.
  • Ensure your boiler flue terminal (outlet) is free from shrubs or weeds growing into it.



    1 Tips....

  • Turning your room thermostat down 1 or 2 degrees can make considerable savings on your heating bill.
  • Have Thermostatic Radiator Valves fitted to your system to further reduce running costs.
  • If you are away from home during winter months, leave the central heating on continuously with the room thermostat turned down to about 10 degrees.
  • In freezing weather, leave the loft hatch slightly open to allow some warm air to escape up there keeping pipes from freezing.
  • Lag pipes and tanks in the loft. Also protect your outside garden tap from freezing.
  • If your heating doesn't appear to be working, check to see if your gas boiler has a pilot that needs relighting. Follow the boiler instructions to relight.



    Can you smell gas?

  • Turn off gas at the gas meter.
  • Open doors and windows to ventilate.
  • Do not smoke or use naked flames.
  • Do not operate electrical switches.
